A VIRTUAL trip to Latin America or a Spanish Carribean Island!
Introduction:You work for a well-known travel agency that creates virtual presentations on line. This unique travel agency wants to design a trip and persuade teenagers to a specific country in Latin America or an Island in the Carribean. You have been assigned to a group that is going to describe the country in ways that make young people want to go visit this place! You should also use mention special offers or discounts for lodging, food, or transportation.
The Task:Design a travel presentation that will make young people want to visit this country. You will present your trip/presentation to the class. Any "props" necessary to enhance your presentation are encouraged. (examples: music, clothing, or any other item that would be represent your country’s culture.) Each group will consist of four people. Each member of the group will take on one of the following personalities:
The Historical Advocate - This person is responsible for pointing out the following: historical sites, museums, theater, ancient ruins or architecture, any famous geographical sites, and any other unique sites that tell of the country’s past.
The Weekend Warrior- This person is responsible for pointing out the following: leisure activities, spectator sports, participatory sports, any aquatic activities, and any other activities unique to that country.
The Thrill Seeker- This person is responsible for pointing out the following: festivals, night sports, holidays, restaurants, clubs, casinos, beaches or any other activity or location where you can get a taste of the best cultural flavor of the nation.
The True Tourist- This person is responsible for pointing out the following things you will need to know for a successful trip: currency needed and rate of exchange, transportation, language, hotel, hostel, bed and breakfast accomodations, climate, clothing needed, local customs and laws and any other pertinent information.
*Include as many pages, props, and pictures as you need to "sell" your country to your clients.

The Process:
The Travel presentation must include the following:
1. A Slideshow that will attract clients using the information each member gathered according to their role. 2. A map of the country with the name and location. (Central America, South America, or the Carribean). 3 A Wordle with all traveling vocabulary words from Ch. 11 Buen Viaje texbook and additional words or places from your destination. 4. A class presentation by all the members of your agency. For your presentation create a slideshow using an animoto presentation or a voicethread presentation and choose at least two additional sources: Glogster for a poster, Shape Collage to create a unique collage of all your pictures eck out the links below:
Evaluation and Assessment: Students will have created a virtual presentation of a Spanish speaking country or island. Students will be graded according to the the Rubric guidelines.
